First of all, not all criticism is hate, there is always room for improvement.

Blindly insulting someone, making no suggestions and just, in general, being rude to a random artist, not okay.
Don't agree with a DD? Sure, it's kind of rude, but simply asking politely is rather reasonable, same with those who make first page or have a lot of page views, etc.
Posting a rude comment or insult can be amusing if you meant it as a joke, trolling, whatever, it's still kind of cruel, but hey, it's the internet and a lot of the people here live on it, we should be able to handle it.
But, I don't know about the rest of the community, but I thought this place was supposed to be fairly accepting of every form of art, if we don't like it, we don't look at it, if we think it can be improved, we make a suggestion, if we find something amusing, we make a joke, we DON'T go around blindly insulting other artists because their art isn't to our taste, let alone to their face. And if we do, it's just an opinion and it is just about their art.
I've been seeing a disturbing increase in the number of people on here that are just bullying and harassing the fuck out of random artists, not about stealing work or not understanding anatomy or anything even art related, but judgements about how horrible a person is based on a single drawing or picture, comments about how ugly they are or they deserve to die or they're whore's or that they don't belong here, etc... EVERYONE belongs here, this is a place for creative freedom and self expression, that covers a LOT of things, and you aren't going to like all of them, that doesn't give anyone the right to treat anyone else like shit.
And it's fucking disgusting.
Grow up.

If you think it's funny, laugh it up, if you want to make your voice heard, go for it, but if you're jealous of their popularity, shut up, if you disapprove of how YOU personally interpreted their art, calm the hell down and clarify what they meant, if you want to have a debate, that's a wonderful learning opportunity.
But stop acting like angry little kids because someones art isn't what you want to see, stop looking at it, or say you don't like their art, even (although I think that makes you quite a bit of an arse, as well) there is no need for personal attacks, let alone taking it off site to trash them to others and spread around YOUR interpretation of things.

I've seen friends and strangers alike falling victim to peoples misinterpretations or judgements (based off their pictures or writing), and I'm tired of seeing this community harass and insult each other like they have nothing better to do.
